:::HOW TO PRAY:::

What is the most effective tool we have available to us as a child of God? It's Prayer! God desires that we pray! Consider these verses...

Jeremiah 33:3 "Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know."

Philippians 4:6 "Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God."

Colossians 4:2 "Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving."

Here's a model for Prayer that you can use in your prayer life. Acronym - A.C.T.S.

A = Adoration is to adore God, to worship him and to fulfil the commandment to love him with all of our heart, mind and soul. As we spend time in adoration, we praise God for who He is - our Creator, our Sustainer and our Redeemer.

C = Confession allows us to clear away the things in the relationship between you and God which are displeasing to Him. All of us have sinned. John writes in his epistle, "8 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." 1 John 1:8-9

T = Thanksgiving. From childhood we are brought up to say "Thank You" when someone does something for us, or gives us a gift. If we take the time to thank others, shouldn't we all that much more be taking the time to thank God who has given us the very breath we breathe? 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 "16 Rejoice always, 17 pray without ceasing, 18 in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you."

S = Supplication or Intercession. Finally we come to ask God for our needs and the needs of others.

"For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations" -Isaiah 56:7
