Happy Wednesday, CCI Family!
We are kicking off our midweek service with “Christ, Be Magnified,” “Overwhelmed,” and “All the Poor and Powerless” and then we will pray together and get into the Word.
We have classes for mobile babies through 5th grade, and we’ll gather for a time of fellowship in the Coffee Cove right after.
Praying blessings over your day!
See you tonight! 💕

Happy “Why I Serve” Monday!
Today we are hearing from Lauren, who came back to Iwakuni and Calvary Chapel Iwakuni with her family last year.
“When coming back to Iwakuni in the summer of 2023, I was excited to come back to Calvary. The first couple of months I was amazed at all the new babies, and I simply wanted to hold them! Then I saw that the church was seeking help in the nursery, and I decided it was time to serve. I love working in the nursery and getting to know these tiny humans!”
—Lauren W.
We are so thankful for Lauren and all of our nursery workers who are the hands of Jesus holding our sweet CCI babies so moms and dads can be present in the service.
If you’ve been thinking about holding babies for Jesus, let us know! We have the cutest ones!!! 💕💕💕

We just love Mondays! Our volunteers are such blessings. Happy “Why I Serve” Monday, CCI Family!
This week, we’d love for you to meet Nona. Nona is happy to not be seen or heard at church but is constantly busy holding babies in the nursery, working in the sound booth, taking photos and videos, and producing such high quality videos to showcase all of the wonderful things happening at CCI! (Our VBS videos? Nona created them!) She’s beyond talented and speaks fluent Japanese!
But why does she serve?
“The Bible teaches that serving God and others is not about doing great things but about doing small things with great love. Galatians 5:13 - "For you were called to freedom, brothers. Only do not use your freedom as an opportunity for the flesh, but through love serve one another."
When you love someone, you’re always willing and able to help. It’s not about serving but genuinely showing love.
Moving here to Iwakuni and living away from home God blessed me with not just a church but a family. Being part of and being loved by this family, it’s just natural to give back the love I received from them through serving. I’m always happy to serve and be with my Calvary Iwakuni family.”
-Nona 💕
We’d love for you to join us serving the body of Christ. There’s a space for everyone to serve.

Mondays are not-so-fun for a lot of humans around the world, but we are loving them because we get to hear from our incredible volunteers on why they share their time and talent with our church! Happy “Why I Serve” Monday, CCI Family! 🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
“Ever since we walked though the doors of Calvary Chapel Iwakuni in July of 2022, we felt so welcomed, loved and at home. We knew, instantly, that this is the body of Christ God had prepared for us to be a part of during our time here in Iwakuni. We are eternally grateful for the growth that has happened in our lives, individually, in our marriage and in our family as we have been a part of the family here at CCI.
Leading others in worship together in youth group growing up is how we met each other and has been a huge part of who we are as a couple. The moment we heard there was a need for people to join the music ministry team at CCI, we felt the Holy Spirit really stirring our hearts to step in. We stepped in and it was (and still is) so cool to see how God brought us to CCI in His most perfect timing to fill gaps that were left open due to PCS season. All we had to be was a willing and available vessel for His Kingdom to carry out what God was calling us to. All the glory to Him alone.
Serving alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ is such a joy. We were made for relationships and there is something so sweet about the relationships that are built on serving Christ alongside one another. We are so blessed that God brought us here to CCI to partner alongside other believers in His Kingdom work.
If that’s you feeling the nudging of the Holy Spirit to step in and to serve, we encourage you to lean in to that calling, to step out in faith, to obediently say yes to what God has for you. His plans and His ways are always far greater than our own. He is worthy of it all.”
-Keagan & Alexis
We cannot be more thankful for this family and the blessing it is for them to lead us in worship. 🥰🥰

What a gift to worship the Risen King!
We’re also super excited to share with you a way we are trying to minimize distractions for our toddler and nursery parents when they are needed without informing the whole church! Listen for the announcement in today’s services!

We are so excited to be together this Tuesday evening, August 27th for our Fall Women’s Ministry Fellowship! This particular evening serves a lot of purposes:
💕We get to be together. We are so many things to so many people, and we love it that for just a second, all we need to be are Sisters in Christ. We praise the Lord for that sweet fellowship.
💕We get to meet new faces. PCS season always gives and takes ladies from our group, and this event serves to let us meet (and maybe hug, if you’re a hugger) our new ladies! We can’t wait to love you!!!!
💕We get to introduce our new study: Come and See (the Gospel of John). How much is the book? $14 or 2,000¥. Do I have to buy it? Nope! The book of John in your Bible is the only required text. The devotional book will just help us dive deeper! Ask us about a digital option if that’s your preferred way to study.
💕 We get to talk about what a typical women’s Bible study night looks like. (For tomorrow, you can expect some delicious snacks, a fun game, and conversations with new and known friends!)
💕 We get to pray for the women in our church. We cannot tell you the power that we unleash when we take our fellow Sisters in Christ to the throne of grace. It is such a pleasure to pray for each other!
Ya’ll tell the typhoon to hold his horses! We have a women’s event first!!!
Hope to see you Tuesday night at 6:30 PM at the church! 💕💕💕

Happy “Why I Serve” Monday! 🥰🥰
If you have been at CCI for more than 10 minutes, chances are you’ve met Cookie & Jonas.
Cookie and Jonas are two of the most encouraging people we know, and they are so faithful to attend church and church events and invite friends and friends-to-be along with them!
We asked them why they decided to serve at our church. Their love for the Lord and all the people He created is bursting at the seams!
“We started serving at Children’s Ministry with the intention of learning and growing together in teaching the young children and we wanted to share God’s love with the little ones.
We have then served at Usher and Greeter ministry and Coffee Cove because we wanted more interaction with our dear brothers and sisters in Christ. We want to greet them and know them better. We want to remember their names and faces. We want to love on them with God’s love which He had poured out on us abundantly.
We also have participated in the Youth Ministry, studying God’s words with them, walking along side them, and just having fun with them.
We remembered when we were at our Youth Group back home in New York, God has used so many people to poured into our lives and they were godly examples for us in our walk with Jesus.
We have also participated in the Bi-weekly Prayer Meeting, we love to pray to our Heavenly Father with other believers with praise, thanksgiving, and supplication, making intercession for our brothers and sisters in Christ.
Our favorite thing about serving is that we get to meet people, build relationships with them and share God’s love with them. We wanted to serve because we are part of God’s family. We were saved by Jesus Christ, by His amazing grace, into God’s family. We are children born of God because we believed in His Name, and He gave us the right to become children of God. That’s why we enjoy and love to serve our dear family in Christ. It’s all because of God’s grace!
To the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the beloved! We love because He first loved us! - 1 John 4:19.”
-Cookie & Jonas
We are definitely not crying (okay maybe a little!), but we are praising God for this family and how their hearts are always ready to serve.
If you’d like to serve at CCI, please message us or speak to any of our ministry leaders, and we will get that ball rolling this week!
We love our CCI family! 💕
